The Lowton, Golborne , Newton-le Willows Community Choir is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic MD to lead this inclusive, 80+ strong SATB choir as from April 2022. Although an academic qualification in music would be desirable, suitable experience would also be considered appropriate for the right candidate.
Good interpersonal skills are essential so that our strong ethos of singing for 'fun & friendship' can be maintained amongst its loyal and enthusiastic members. We meet on a Wednesday evening in Newton-le-Willows from 7.30-9.30pm and sing a wide range of musical genres from Moazrt to Snow Patrol!
There are two good sized rehearsal spaces and two accompanists as well as a hard working committee who take on all aspects of administration and organisation of the choir. Typically, we undertake around three concerts in a year as well as singing at carol services and other community events.
