Chapel-en-le-Frith MVC is recruiting a new Musical Director, to start in January 2024 - taking over from Alison Bletcher who is leaving in the post after five very successful years. Based in north west Derbyshire, we are a non-auditioned choir of 30+ voices and celebrated our centenary in 2018. We meet weekly throughout the year and promote three or four of our own concerts in addition to a number of invitations to other concerts and musical events across the calendar. In recent years we have toured regularly, both in the UK and abroad.
We are keen to continue with our varied repertoire, ranging from traditional male voice choir hymns and other sacred music to hits from the shows - and potentially everything else in between. We have sung in competition, but we are essentially a concert choir. Our main focus is on the enjoyment of singing together, both in rehearsal and in concert, and striving to be the best we can.
We are looking for someone with the appropriate experience, enthusiasm and energy to lead this friendly group of singers.
