The Three Valleys Male Voice Choir is a male voice choir with no audition. Current members are approx. 25 and we have been in existence for over 30 years. We are based in Waltham Abbey Baptist Church in Waltham Abbey in Essex. All our performances take place within 45 minutes or so from our rehearsal space.
We aim for members to enjoy their singing, have fun and learn something while they are at it! The choir sings a wide rang of material from Popular, Jazz, Folk and some Classical music.
We put on 4 public concerts and up to 12 private concerts (in care homes) per year. In addition to this we hold occasional away days and socials for the choir.
In a pianist we are looking for someone who is good with people in a variety of settings, has a sense of humour, is encouraging and patient. In addition, someone who is willing to work cooperatively with our MD.
From a technical point of view we are looking for the following: ability to play complex scores; DBS checked or willingness to be checked; ability to lead sing-alongs; experience of playing in a variety of settings; playing by ear (desirable) and transposition skills (desirable), and, it's a long shot, but an ability to play accordion (desirable!).
The ideal candidate would have their own transport; be available for Tuesday evening rehearsals at Waltham Abbey Baptist Church from 7.30-9.30; be available for approximately 4 public concerts and 10-12 private concerts in care homes on Wednesdays from 2-3.30pm.
The compensation is depending on experience but rehearsals are £40-£60 for 2 hours; care home and public concerts are £40-£70.
