Expanding your Choral Toolkit

28 and 29 March, Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre, Leeds

Expand your choral toolkit and join us for a weekend of workshops focusing on expanding your toolkit of choral resources and inspiration, with presenters from Leeds, Ireland and Canada. Come for a day, or the full weekend - there is very reasonably priced accommodation in Headingley and lots of good restaurants.

28th March: Voicing Your Choir

This day will focus on the technique of voicing your choir and creating vocal blend in ensembles. In the morning, sessions will be led by Kevin O'Carroll. Find out more about his work here.

In the afternoon, we will be joined by Sally McLean and The White Rosettes, who are current Ladies European Barbershop Champions and fifteen times British Champions. Find out more about Sally and The White Rosettes here.

29th March: Vocal Health and Lifelong Singing

Canadian conductor Jordan Travis joins us again to expand on his popular session at last year's Festival on the ageing voice. This is a great opportunity for conductors to get an in depth understanding of the choral voice, with sessions covering vocal technique and pedagogy, care of the senior voice and using your knowledge to lead really effective choral warm-ups.

ABCD Choral Leaders' Festival
With great regret we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s abcd Choral Leaders’ Festival, our 35th Annual Convention, which was to have taken place from 28-30 August at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The decision was taken in light of the ongoing situation regarding coronavirus, both in the UK and abroad.
