Choir of the Year in 2016 is now open and welcoming entries from amateur choirs across the UK. abcd is delighted to be teaming up with Choir of the Year on a new element to the Audition programme: each venue will also be host to a masterclass for up to four choirs, led by an experienced abcd tutor.

- Choral Composition Competition announced

The Fourth Choir is holding an international choral composition competition to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. The winner of the competition will receive a prize of £1000 and the winning composition will be premièred by the choir at a Memorial Concert on 23 April 2016 in London’s historic Middle Temple Hall.

- The Government announced a new four-stage roadmap on 22 February to lift the current restrictions in England. We await detailed information on the performing arts, but you can find the key points so far on our Government guidelines page. As the lockdown slowly eases, we've plenty of spring activity for all choral leaders to enjoy.

- Following the announcement of new national lockdowns, Stay at Home guidance has been issued and supersedes all other guidance. Revised performing arts guidance was published on 6 January and this and other guidance has been updated on our pages to reflect this.
